Pine Point Promises is a lovely classic New England home (where your hosts, the second generation property owners live) with two back garden cottages nestled alongside the Scarborough estuary on East Grand Avenue.
Built in the early 1950s to accommodate post-war travellers, these are modest and humble, yet well equipped with Air Conditioning, Heat, Refrigerator, Electric Stove & Oven, Coffee Pot, Microwave, Toaster, and DirecTV with HBO, and High Speed Wifi.
We strive to feel like staying with friends of friends, or distant family. We hope you feel less like you are paying to stay here, than contributing to help us with the upkeep of the property so we can continue sharing it with all our visitors, safe, comfortable, and reasonably priced, with close access to the Beach.
We are happy to socialize with guests, or give you your privacy, as you wish. We are happy to share campfire time with marshmallows in the backyard from time-to-time with our guests.

Pine Point in Scarborough, Maine, convenient to Interstate 95 and U.S. Route One, is a quiet seaside community which has welcomed summer visitors to Maine for generations. The cottages are a short two minute walk to the longest stretch of sandy beach in Maine. They each have their own private entrances and parking. Guests are welcome to share the common spaces of the property, including picnic tables, BBQ grill, and lawn chairs.
Pine Point extends for four miles along Saco Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, from the jetty at the mouth of the Scarborough River to Old Orchard Beach. You'll find plenty of room to relax on the beach, swim, or take a stroll along the beach to enjoy the surf, seabirds, and an occasional seal. The cottage is located across the street from a section of beach that is uncrowded on even the busiest of summer days. Our neighbors are the homes of year round and summer residents, other small cottages and guest houses which don't create the crowds of the larger condos and hotels of densely populated Old Orchard Beach down the road. It is a two mile walk or five minute drive to downtown Old Orchard Beach where you can take a ride on the Ferris wheel and amusement park rides, stroll along the world famous pier, shop in many boutiques, hit the arcade or night clubs, pick up a souvenir, or relax in restaurants from fast food to fine dining
The cottage has two comfy bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with two twins. The living room has a full size sofa with pull out bed (good in a pinch, but admittedly not the most comfy--this is why we list the property for 4 guests, but if you have a visitor, they could squeeze in). There is outdoor lawn furniture in the back yard that guests may use on the property. The backyard overlooks the ecologically important Scarborough estuary and salt marsh. There is a no fee laundry room available in the house that guests may use as well.
Please note, we have a no refund policy on VRBO/Homeaway due to past abuses of people locking down our reservations and then canceling without enough time to fill the reservation.
We are a small family business, with only two cottages. We simply do not have the flexibility that large commercial operations have. There are only 11 peak weeks for each cottage in the summer. Please be sure of your dates when booking.
Rest assured, if you cancel for an important reason, we will be able to refund your money if we fill your reservation.
So if you do need to cancel for any reason, let us know as early as possible to give us a chance to give you a full refund.
