Located on Isle au Haut, this modern design is based on Japanese rural homes, it features a main house with master bedroom & bath with deck, a large common room with high ceiling lined with light pine. The common room features full glass walls on two sides. One faces The Atlantic Ocean, the other side faces the gardens and guest house. In this room is a cook's kitchen including a Wolf range, dining area and comfortable sitting area. On both sides of this space is a large deck with seating. The guest house, accessible by a granite stone walkway, has two bedroom and a full bath. There is also a crib. With amenities like heating, a washing machine, and WiFi, guests can enjoy a serene stay. Escape to this tranquil retreat and experience the beauty of Isle au Haut. Your five acre quiet retreat faces The Atlantic Ocean, and has a pathway thru the woods to a mile long fresh water pond that abuts the rear of the land. We have a canoe and paddle boards for your use. From the home, you are close to Acadia hiking trails, mountain biking around the island. Local lobsters are available from our fishing community and food and wine/beer from a well provisioned small island store. Travel to the island is on a passenger only boat from Stonington, Maine. (Isle au Haut Boat Co.) At the town dock, our pickup truck is available for you to drive the one island road to our home on the South East side of the island. Our home is beautifully furnished with art work, a lively collection of book and plant/bird/geology/astronomy resources, along with spotting scope. You are surrounded by nature.
